Mildred L. "Millie" Brown, age 78, of Chambersburg, passed away in her home on Monday, September 6, 2010. Born on October 27, 1931 in Hagerstown MD, she was the daughter of the late Albert Monninger and Blanche Baker Monninger. She was the widow of the late Stanley R. Brown, who preceded her in death on May 2, 2009.
A retired bookkeeper, Millie worked for First National Bank in Hagerstown and the former John Hansen Savings and Loan in Frederick. She was a member of Brethren Fellowship Church of Chambersburg, PA.
Mildred is survived by three children, Larry J. Stockslager (and wife, Donna) of Sharpsburg MD, Gary L. Stockslager (and wife, Barbara) of Easton, PA., Karen K. Diller (and husband, Jeff) of Chambersburg, PA.; one brother, Roy Monninger (and wife Ruby) of Falling Waters, WV.; 7 grandchildren and one great-granddaughter. Aside from her husband, she was preceded in death by a brother, Earl.
Funeral Services will be held on Saturday September 11, 2010 at 11 AM in the Brethren Fellowship Church 339 Lincoln Way East Chambersburg, PA 17201 with Rev. Manny Diaz officiating. Interment will follow in Cedar Lawn Memorial Park. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the church. Memorial contributions may be made to the Cumberland Valley Animal Shelter, 2325 Country Road Chambersburg, PA 17202.
