L. Louise Hollar, 91, of Chambersburg, died on Monday, November 17, 2008 in Menno Haven, Chambersburg. Born on October 13, 1917 in Williamson, PA, she was a daughter of the late Russell S. and Bessie J. Brumbaugh Barnes. She was the widow of J. Norman Hollar, who died on May 19, 1994.


A 1935 graduate of the former Chambersburg High School, Louise and her husband owned and operated their own business, Trends by Hollar, formerly on King Street in Chambersburg. She was a member of First Lutheran Church in Chambersburg and she enjoyed volunteering her time and efforts with Chambersburg's community concerts.
She is survived by her daughter, Pamela Diane Hollar of Fairfax, VA; and two grandchildren, John Hollar of Fairfax Station, VA and Stephanie Hollar of Wilmington, NC. Her only brother, Lawrence Barnes, was killed in Italy during World War II.


Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM on Friday, November 21, 2008 in the chapel of the Thomas L. Geisel Funeral Home, 333 Falling Spring Road, Chambersburg, with viewing one hour prior to the service. The Rev. Steven Dorsett will officiate. Interment will follow in Lincoln Cemetery.
