Agnes Hurley Buttaccio, age 90, of 462 Cumberland Avenue, Chambersburg, died on Sunday, August 29, 2010 in the Chambersburg Hospital. Born on June 20, 1920 in Geneva, NY, she was a daughter of the late Robert B. and Mary Fleming Hurley.
She was the widow of Raymond J. Buttaccio, whom she married on June 21, 1947 in Geneva. He preceded her in death on September 9, 2007.


A 1940 graduate of DeSales High School in Geneva, Agnes spent most of her life raising and caring for her family. She was a member of Corpus Christi Catholic Church and the Columbian Ladies. Agnes is survived by two sons, David J. Buttaccio of Chambersburg, and Raymond J. "Skip" Buttaccio Jr. (and wife, Lynne) of Albion, PA; two grandchildren, Stephen and Allison Buttaccio; and one sisters, Marion Van Blarcum of Geneva. Aside from her husband, she was preceded in death by one brother and two sisters.


A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 12:30 PM on Thursday, September 2, 2010 in Corpus Christi Catholic Church, 320 Philadelphia Avenue, Chambersburg. Rev. James R. O'Brien will officiate. Interment will follow in Corpus Christi Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 4-8 PM on Wednesday in Thomas L. Geisel Funeral Home, 333 Falling Spring Road, Chambersburg, with a rosary service beginning at 8 PM.
