Dorothy J. Sellers, 85, of Fayetteville, died at 3:30 PM, Tuesday, August 17, 2010 at her home. Born October 27, 1924 near Fayetteville, she was a daughter of the late Amos H. and Laura E. Wagner. A 1942 graduate of the Chambersburg High School, she was formerly employed for twenty years at the former Stanley Company and for twenty-four years at the former Valley Bank, retiring in 1984. She was a life member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Fayetteville and the Ladies Auxiliary of Charles Nitterhouse VFW Post 1599. She also held membership in the National Association of Retired Federal Employees #1063, the National AARP, and had served as secretary and treasurer in the former AARP Chapter 1509.
Dorothy was preceded in death by her first husband, Charles S. Helmuth in 1960, her second husband, Charles L. Sellers in 1980, and a companion of 24 years, Carl L. Blair, Sr. in 2004.
She is survived by her daughter, Darlene Helmuth Robison and husband Donald of Chambersburg; her son, Rodney Helmuth and wife Sharon of Greencastle; three grandchildren, Todd W. Robison and wife Cindy of Colorado Springs, CO, Tracey L. Lowe and husband Robert of Chandler, Arizona, and Angela K. Robison of Chambersburg; one step-grandson, Robert K. Wright, Sr. of Chambersburg; five great-grandchildren; and two step-great-grandchildren. She is also survived by a brother, Russell L. Wagner of Chambersburg.. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a brother, Edgar F. Wagner and a sister, Mildred M. Buhrman.
Private services will be held at St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Fayetteville. Rev. Eloise Shanley will officiate. Interment will follow in Parklawns Memorial Gardens, Chambersburg.
