A 1942 graduate of Sunbury High School, he was assistant manager of General Acceptance Corporation Offices in Sunbury and Scranton. He was the manager of the loan office in Chambersburg in 1954 and 1955. He opened the installment loan department in the Chambersburg Trust Company, now M&T Bank, in 1956. After retiring in 1979, he owned and operated Kay's Kitchen on South Main Street. He also sold specialty advertising for the Vernon Company of Newton, Iowa from 1980-2001.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his first wife, Lera G. Sanders Reichenbach on September 20, 1987. His wonderful Shelties, Heidi and Heather preceded him also. Harold loved dogs and cats, and they were always drawn to him.
