Marjorie M. Fogelsanger, 70, of 7 Acorn Circle, Chambersburg, peacefully transitioned into eternal life Sunday morning, November 16, 2008 in her home. Born December 14, 1937 in Southampton Township, she was a daughter of the late Edwin A. and Marie Riggs Kann. A graduate of the Shippensburg High School, she attended the former Shippensburg State Teacher's College and received a degree in education from James Madison University. She taught school in Harrisonburg, Virginia prior to moving to Chambersburg where she was employed as a Reading Specialist with the Chambersburg Area School District, retiring in 1999. In addition to teaching, she inspired students by working with them as a private tutor.

Margie was an active member of the Chambersburg Church of the Brethren where she had served in many Christian Education capacities. She sang with the church choir, was a member of the bell choir, and was active with the Searchers Sunday school class. At one time she served on the Southern District Board of the Church of the Brethren. She enjoyed reading, cross-stitch, sewing, gardening, and cooking. She was awarded the title of Pennsylvania State Peach Queen in 1955.

A loving and devoted wife, mother, and grandmother, she is survived by her loving husband, Rev. Donald H. Fogelsanger, whom she married August 17, 1957; three daughters, Debra J. Shilling and husband Stan of Chambersburg, Cheryl A. Egan and her significant other, Gregg Hamilton of Chambersburg, and Kimberly K. Crowley and husband James of Trappe, Maryland; six grandchildren, Bradley C. Shilling, Jonathan M. Shilling, Simon M. Egan, Christina M. Crowley, Samantha E. Crowley, and Amy E. Crowley; two brothers, Carroll Kann and wife Joyce of Hartford, CT and Dale Kann and wife Rosie of Indianapolis, Indiana; as well as a sister, Barbara Beard and husband Lawrence of Chambersburg.

A Celebration of Margie's life will be held at 10:30 AM Saturday, November 22, 2008 in the Chambersburg Church of the Brethren. Rev. Harold E. Yeager and Rev. Darlene Stouffer will officiate. Friend's are invited to a fellowship meal in the church's Brethren Life Center immediately following the service. There will be a family viewing and private interment will be in Spring Hill Cemetery, Shippensburg.
