Allan E. Conaway, Sr.

Allan Eugene Conaway, Sr., fell asleep in death suddenly on April 16th, 2026. He was born June 16th, 1951, to Russell and Blanche Conaway of Woodbine, MD. Allan was the oldest of five children (Gail, April, Roger, Ralph).

Allan would go on to marry the love of his life, Carolyn Conaway, and share 54 years together as husband and wife. The two made the most fantastic parents and very best of friends to eight of us and the spouses we chose: Amy (Brent Young), Allan II (Hilary), Jonathan, Rusty (Rachel), Joshua (Kayla), Cari (DJ Bender), Stacey (Jordan Wilhide), Jessica (Roger Nestor). Fifteen grandchildren will miss their Pap Pap until they meet again. They were his pride and joy: Kylie, Allie, Jaycie, Harper, Elijah, Nathanael, Noah, Blake, Samson, Keaton, Talan, Titus, Connor, Colton, and Baby Nestor (whose first tractor ride will be put on hold for a little while). In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his brother Roger Conaway.

In 2005, Allan made a promise to give his best to Jehovah God. His faith was evident in all aspects of his life. He was confident in the coming of God's Kingdom and often talked about future life on paradise earth. While we wait for that future promise, we will do our best to remember the good times we shared, recalling his keen sense of humor, his sing-song morning routines, and his love of family, looking forward to the day we hear, "well, hello there".

A memorial service will be held on Saturday, May 2, 2026, at 2:00 PM at the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses, 1274 Highland Avenue Road, Gettysburg, PA 17325. Burial will be private. In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to Jehovah’s Witnesses at www.jw.org
