Anita L. Birks

Anita L. Birks, 70, of Fayetteville, PA, passed unexpectedly on Thursday, May 14, 2026, at her home.

Born on December 30, 1955, in Frederick, Maryland, she was the daughter of the late Patrick and Mary (Carbaugh) Moore.

Anita was a graduate of Frederick High School and carried with her a lifelong love of the simple joys in life. She was a devoted sports fan who could often be found cheering on her favorite teams—especially during football season or while watching the New York Yankees. She also enjoyed NASCAR and never missed the chance to catch a race. On warm days, Anita found happiness in the sunshine, taking time to relax and enjoy the moment.

Above all else, Anita’s greatest joy came from her family. She deeply loved her children and treasured every moment spent with her grandchildren, who held a very special place in her heart. Her presence, laughter, and love will be dearly missed by all who knew her.

She is survived by her loving children: Chad Birks (Teresa) of Fayetteville, PA; Seth-Patrick Birks (Mandy) of Inwood, WV; Asa Birks (Jennifer) of Hanover, PA; and Lukas Birks (Cassie) of Fayetteville, PA; her three grandchildren; her brother, Patrick Moore III of Thurmont, MD; and her sisters, Katie Lee of Hagerstown, MD, and Sadie Montague of Winchester, VA.

A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.
