Anne Miller

Anne Robb Miller, 91, of Chambersburg, PA passed away Thursday, February 16, 2023 in Brookview Menno Haven. Born June 27, 1931 in Plainfield, NJ she was the daughter of the late Mahlon Keister and Anne (Wagner) Robb.

Anne was a graduate of Bellefonte High School in the Class of 1949. She then went on to obtain her Bachelor’s Degree from Penn State University and then her Master’s Degree in Elementary Education from Shippensburg University. Anne was employed by the Chambersburg Area School District as a kindergarten and second grade teacher at Marion Elementary School for over 20 years. She retired in 1993.

Anne was a member of Central Presbyterian Church since 1958. She had a passion for volunteering. She visited church shut-ins, volunteered at the church’s Diaper Depot, and delivered Meals on Wheels for over 20 years. Anne also enjoyed yardwork, spending time outdoors, reading, and traveling. After retiring, she and her late husband, Mike, enjoyed traveling throughout the United States in their motor home, which included two trips to Alaska. After Mike’s passing, Anne traveled extensively throughout the world with the F&M Bank Go Club.

Anne is survived by five children, Kathi Bietsch and her husband Walter, The Rev. Michael Miller and his wife Karen (Lehman), Richard Miller and his wife Sonya (Reese), Krista Hain and her husband Alan Jr., and Susan Stahl and her husband Michael; 13 grandchildren; and 16 great-grandchildren. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, Dr. Marlin “Mike” Miller who passed away December 11, 2000.

Anne and Mike were blessed with a beautiful family. Some of her favorite times were holiday dinner get-togethers, being together at the family cabin, and especially lovely weekends at Cape May. Anne had a full, wonderful life, and left her family with many joyful memories.

A memorial service will be held 2:00 PM, Monday, February 20, 2023 at Central Presbyterian Church, 40 Lincoln Way W., Chambersburg, PA 17201 with The Rev. Scott Bowerman officiating. Burial will be private at the convenience of the family in Lincoln Cemetery, Chambersburg. Arrangements are entrusted to the Thomas L. Geisel Funeral Home, Chambersburg.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Cumberland Valley Animal Shelter, 5051 Letterkenny Road W., Chambersburg, PA 17201; Chambersburg YMCA, 570 E. McKinley St., Chambersburg, PA 17201; or the Coyle Free Library, 102 Main Street, Chambersburg, PA 17201.
