Barbara Ann (Swope) Kirkpatrick, 51, of Chambersburg, Pennsylvania, passed away peacefully on September 29, 2026, at the University of Maryland Medical Center, following a brief but courageous battle with cancer.

Born on May 2, 1975, in Chambersburg, Barb was the beloved daughter of William and Jane Swope of Fayetteville, Pennsylvania. She grew up in the local area and dedicated her life to enriching the minds and hearts of the youth in her community.

Barb was a passionate educator, serving as a dedicated Math Teacher for the Chambersburg Area School District for 28 years. Throughout her impactful career, she shaped countless lives while teaching at Faust Junior High (now Chambersburg Area Middle School North) and Chambersburg Area Senior High School. Her patience, guidance, and love for her students left an indelible mark on generations of learners.

At home, Barb was a deeply devoted wife and mother. She shared nearly twenty-five beautiful years of marriage with her husband, Craig Kirkpatrick, building a life filled with love, partnership, and cherished memories in Chambersburg. Together, they raised their son, Liam Kirkpatrick, who was the absolute pride and joy of Barb’s life.

Barb also found immense joy in cooking, gardening, and traveling. She loved preparing meals to share with family, tending to her garden, traveling, and creating treasured memories along the way.

She is survived by her loving husband, Craig; her son, Liam; her parents, William and Jane Swope; and a large circle of extended family, colleagues, former students, and dear friends who will miss her warmth, intellect, and gentle spirit.
