Benjamin J. Nelson, 69, of Chambersburg, passed away Tuesday morning, September 12, 2023 at the Chambersburg Hospital. Born February 28, 1954 in Chambersburg, he was a son of the late R.V. and Margaret Bradley Nelson. He was a 1972 graduate of the Chambersburg Area Senior High School and attended the Mont Alto campus of Penn State University. He was last employed in maintenance for the local McDonalds restaurants for 17 years. Early in his life he worked at the former United Telephone Company. Benjamin was a former member of First United Methodist Church and was a current member of the Chambersburg Rod and Gun Club. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, hiking in the mountains, and riding his motorcycle. Some of his most treasured times were those spent with his family on vacations to the Outer Banks.

He is survived by his wife, Remle Rock Nelson whom he married July 2, 1990; his sister Vivian N. Furry and husband Jeff; his brother Charles E. Nelson and wife Sandy; niece Kate Tucker and husband Ryan; nephew Joshua Nelson and wife April; great-niece Hattie Nelson; and great-nephew Jaxson Tucker. He is also survived by his brothers-in-laws Ryan and Reginald Rock and his beloved cat, Chloe.

A graveside service will be held at 10:00 AM Saturday, September 23, 2023 at Lincoln Cemetery.
