Betty C. Stouffer, 83, of Chambersburg, PA, went to be with Jesus on Wednesday, April 22, 2026, at her home with her family by her side. Born November 1, 1942, in Greencastle, PA, she was the daughter of the late Riley and Mary Brechbiel Laughlin.
Betty was a 1961 graduate of Greencastle-Antim High School. She was employed at Lewrene Interiors and The Butcher Shoppe until her retirement in 2006. Betty was a member of Chambersburg Church of the Brethren. She enjoyed bowling, attending music shows, going to the beach, craft shows and taking her children to the pool. She loved spending time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren helping out her family by watching them often throughout the years.
She is survived by her husband of 63 years, Dallas R. Stouffer, whom she married on April 20, 1963; three children, Douglas Stouffer (Tammy), Barbara Harbaugh (Dave), and Michelle Stine (Terry), all of Chambersburg; eight grandchildren, Lukas Stouffer (Heather), Bryce Stouffer (Kelsey), Jacob Stouffer (Beatrice), Jessica Piatt (Jason), David Piatt (Jennifer), Erin Heck (Brandon), Garrett Stine (Jenn) and Kelsey Mentzer (Luke); and eleven great grandchildren, Adin, Nathan, Natalee, Cohen, Lilyanna, Landon, Ava, Myles, Rayne, Jayden, and Hoyt. The last of her immediate family, Betty was preceded in death by her parents; and three brothers, Kenneth, Garland, and Thomas.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM on Monday, April 27, 2026, in the chapel of Thomas L. Geisel Funeral Home, 333 Falling Spring Road, Chambersburg, PA 17202. Rev. Mark Baliles will officiate. Interment will follow in Lincoln Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 9:00 – 11:00 AM on Monday prior to the service at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to Chambersburg Church of the Brethren, 260 S. 4th Street, Chambersburg, PA 17201. Condolences and memories may be shared at geiselfuneralhome.com.
