Bonnie S. Aleshire

October 22, 1962 — June 8, 2024

Chambersburg

Bonnie Sue (Oakes, Seay) Aleshire, 61, of Chambersburg PA passed away on Saturday, June 8, 2024 in her home surrounded by er family.  Born in Rockville, MD she was the daughter of the late Peggy Lou Liller.  Bonnie was a 1980 graduate of the Francis Scott Key High School and later went on to graduate from Wilson College with an Associates degree in Accounting.

She was very passionate about her career as an accountant of more than 35 years and worked at SEK & Co., LLC for 20 years up until the time of her passing.  SEK & Co., LLC was her second family and she would quickly tell you she loved getting out of bed to go to work each day.

Bonnie loved life!   She enjoyed being around people, laughing, smiling and was often known as a bit of a prankster.  She enjoyed cooking, a bit of a southern cook and felt food was a way to bring people together.  She enjoyed gardening, both vegetable and flower and just being outside in the fresh air and taking in all of nature.   She and her husband Roger L. Aleshire, originally of Frederick, MD got great joy watching the birds, squirrels, rabbits, etc.  They also enjoyed their Koi pond and called home, “Our Happy Place”!

Bonnie got a ready-made family when she and Roger met and both got great enjoyment from raising a family of four; step-daughter, Michelle Aleshire; step-granddaughter, Ashley M. Reed; step-grandsons Thomas L. Jacobs and Brady Jacobs.  They were both very engrained in everything the kids did from sports to school.

Bonnie is survived by her husband and soulmate, Roger L. Aleshire, Chambersburg, PA but both Bonnie and Roger are originally from Frederick County, MD; step-brothers, Ralph W. Liller, Roger H. Liller (Cheri), and Brian Liller (Erin); sister, Wanda L. Dorsey (Harold); and a number of nieces and nephews. In addition to her mother, Bonnie was preceded in death by her by her brother, Arnold Bryce Liller.

Services will be held 11:00 AM, Friday, June 14, 2024 in the Chapel of the Thomas L. Geisel Funeral Home, 333 Falling Spring Road, Chambersburg, PA 17202 with Pastor Jeremy Garman officiating.  Burial will be held at 1:30 PM Friday in Mt. Olivet Cemetery, Frederick, MD.
