Charles R. “Chuck” McKissick, 57, of Chambersburg, PA passed away unexpectedly Saturday, July 25, 2026, in the Emergency Room of the Chambersburg Hospital. Born March 3, 1969, in Chambersburg he was the son of Linda K. (Radecke) McKissick and the late Terrance L. “Chic” McKissick.
He was a graduate of Chambersburg Area Senior High School with the Class of 1987. Chuck then went on to obtain his Bachelor of Arts in Political Science from Shippensburg University. He was employed as an Income Maintenance Caseworker at Franklin County Assistance Office for 27 years where he was part of the union during his tenure. Chuck was also employed as a sales representative for Essis and Sons Carpet, Chambersburg since 1985. He was still currently employed at Essis at the time of his passing.
Chuck was a life member of the Chambersburg Club and a member and devoted volunteer of the Charles Nitterhouse VFW Post 1599, Chambersburg. In his younger years he played and coached men’s softball in the area. Chuck was a kind and giving person, he would do anything he could for his family and friends. More than anything Chuck loved his grandchildren and spoiling them.
In addition to his mother, he is survived by his son, Wesley Heacox (Emma); his fiancé, Angela Heacox; two grandchildren, Tatum and McKenna; two brothers, Paul McKissick (Alison) and Guy McKissick; two nieces, Erika McKissick (Ryan Hardesty) and Morgan Forrester (Cody); and two great-nephews, Crew and Pete.
In addition to his father, Chuck is preceded in death by his brother William “Bill” McKissick.
A memorial service will be held 3:00 PM, Thursday, July 30, 2026, in the Chapel of the Thomas L. Geisel Funeral Home, 333 Falling Spring Road, Chambersburg, PA 17202 with Pastor Terry Hoke officiating.
The family will receive friends two hours prior to the service from 1:00 PM until 3:00 PM Thursday afternoon in the funeral home.
