Deborah Lynne Owens, 57, of Chambersburg, PA passed away Thursday, June 6, 2024, in her home. Born November 6, 1966, in Chambersburg, she was the daughter of Patricia N. Owens and the late William J. Owens. Deb was a graduate of Chambersburg Area Senior High School with the Class of 1984. She later attended college at Harrisburg Area Community College, majoring in business, and was employed as an administrative assistant for nearly ten years at various federal government agencies.
Deb was a free-spirited person who loved to laugh and appreciate the small things in life. In her leisure, she loved spending time in nature. She particularly enjoyed kayaking, hiking and camping with her family in local areas such as Caledonia and Cowans Gap State Parks. Deb also enjoyed writing poems and listening to music, especially alternative and classic rock, her favorite band being Grateful Dead. She was an avid football fan and cherished the times she had to watch the Pittsburgh Steelers play at Sunday afternoon get-togethers with her friends and family. A summer beach trip with her children and sister was always the highlight of her year. She adored her three grandchildren and took any opportunity she could to spend time with and dote on them.
In addition to her mother, she is survived by her four children, William M. Sandell and his wife Bre, Matthew L. Sandell, Erica L. Ambrose and her husband Shane, and David P. Sandell. Deb is also survived by her three beloved grandchildren Nellie R., Callium R., and Kira R. Sandell; and her sister, Sharon D. Owens-Kabatek and her husband Peter.
