Diane J. Richardson

Diane J. (Palmer) Richardson, 75, of Chambersburg, PA passed away Tuesday, June 2, 2026 in her home. Born May 9, 1951 in Newton Hamilton, PA, she was the daughter of Elva (Pollock) Palmer of Marion, PA and the late Thomas Palmer.

She was a graduate of Chambersburg Area Senior High School with the Class of 1969. Diane then went on to obtain her bachelor’s degree in education and then her master’s degree in special education both from Shippensburg University. She was a dedicated and caring teacher for over 20 years, ending her career with the Lincoln Intermediate Unit 12.

Diane was a faithful and involved member of St. Thomas Assembly of God, where she sang on the worship team and served in many capacities, including the youth Missionettes Program. She had a beautiful voice and used her talents to sing with the Canaanland Singers for 18 years. Diane was an avid Disney fan and enjoyed taking her family to the parks and on Disney Cruises. She loved camping and traveling with her husband.

In addition to her mother, she is survived by her husband of 53 years, Richard “Rick” Richardson, whom she married November 4, 1972; daughter, Kelly Turner and her husband Mark of Chambersburg; three grandchildren, Kia, Jasmine, and Bryce; three great-grandchildren, Hayden, Sophia, and Daxton; a sister, Pamela Wertner and her husband John of Marion; a brother-in-law, Randall Richardson; and a number of cousins.

Services will be held 11:00 AM, Saturday, June 6, 2026 in St. Thomas Assembly of God Church, 173 Rhondel Drive, St. Thomas, PA 17252, with Pastor Josh Baldwin officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service Saturday morning in the church.

A committal service will be held 1:30 PM, Monday, June 8, 2026 in Parklawns Memorial Gardens, 3218 Philadelphia Ave., Chambersburg, PA 17201.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Student Scholarship Program at St. Thomas Assembly of God at the above church address.
