Dolores Gaughenbaugh

Dolores Gaughenbaugh, 98, of Chambersburg, PA, passed away on Saturday, May 9, 2026, at Homewood at Williamsport in Williamsport, MD. She was born on May 6, 1928, in Gettysburg, PA to the late Clarence and Helen (Cook) Dougal.

Dolores was a 1946 graduate of Chambersburg High School and a member of Corpus Christi Catholic Church in Chambersburg, PA. She participated in various productions in the Chambersburg Community Theater in the 1940’s and 1950’s and enjoyed sewing and cooking for her family and friends. Additionally, she and her husband Earl frequently volunteered their time at the Chambersburg Hospital as well as local polling places during elections.

She is survived by her daughter Cynthia Shank and her husband Rick of Hagerstown, MD; son Tim Gaughenbaugh and his wife Carla of Gambrills, MD; and 5 grandchildren. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband Earl James Gaughenbaugh who passed away in 2012 and her brothers Reginald and Gary.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, May 16, 2026, at 12:00 PM in the Chapel of the Thomas L. Geisel Funeral Home, 333 Falling Spring Road, Chambersburg, PA 17202 with Deacon Richard Ramsey officiating. Burial will follow in Corpus Christi Catholic Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service on Saturday, from 11:00 AM – 12:00 PM at the funeral home.
