Donald B. Hinton, Jr., 79, of Chambersburg, PA passed away Thursday, November 18, 2021 in the Chambersburg Hospital. Born May 17, 1942 in Fayetteville, PA he was the son of the late Donald B. Hinton, Sr. and Matilda A. (Tasker) Hinton.
He attended Chambersburg Area Schools. Donald was employed as a truck driver for Philadelphia Electric Company for over 20 years. He was a fisherman and hunter and he enjoyed riding his motorcycle. Donald was a member of the Community Lodge No. 774, Free and Accepted Masons of Pennsylvania.
He is survived by five children, Rosita R Johnson of Dumfries, VA, Donald B. Hinton III of Chambersburg, PA, Andrew S. ”Drew” Hinton of Chambersburg, PA, Brian L. “Poncho” Hinton (wife Belinda) of Lumberton, NC, and Matilda A. “Angel” Hinton-Andrews (husband Efrem) of Florence, SC; six grandchildren, Leenda Hinton, Ulan Johnson, Gavin Williams, ShyAnn Hinton-Gajcowski, Brittany Hinton and Shania Hinton; seven great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild and two siblings, Roger Hinton and Beverly Hinton.
In addition to his parents he is preceded in death by his beloved wife, Bassina Sonjaline Barbour Hinton who passed away April 12, 2018; a sister, Matilda Ann Armstrong and a grandson, Ricardo Hinton Johnson.
Services will be held 11:00 AM, Friday, November 26, 2021 in the Chapel of the Thomas L. Geisel Funeral Home, 333 Falling Spring Road, Chambersburg, PA 17202. Burial will follow in Lebanon Cemetery. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service Friday morning in the funeral home.
