Doris M. Truett, 93, of Chambersburg, PA passed away Thursday, May 2, 2024 in her home. Born October 1, 1930 in Chambersburg she was the daughter of the late Earl and Hazel (Rohrabaugh) Woodal.
She was employed as a seamstress at the Stanley Company, Chambersburg. Doris retired after 47 years with the company. She was a member of Second Lutheran Church of Chambersburg, Cumberland Valley Hose Company, and the Ladies Auxiliary of the VFW Post 1599, Elks Club Lodge 600, and American Legion Post 46 all in Chambersburg. Doris loved playing bingo and spending time with her family.
She is survived by her daughter, Bonnie T. Thompson of Chambersburg; a grandson, Christopher R. Thompson and his wife Hilari of Chambersburg; two great-granddaughters, Skylyhn and Katy; and a great-great-granddaughter Rose Emberson. In addition to her parents she is preceded in death by her husband, Samuel “Turk” Truett who passed away May 10, 2004; son-in-law, Dean E. Thompson, Jr.; six brothers; and one sister.
A graveside service will be held 10:00 AM, Friday, May 10, 2024 in Parklawns Memorial Gardens, 3218 Philadelphia Ave, Chambersburg, PA 17201. Arrangements are by Thomas L. Geisel Funeral Home and Cremation Center, Chambersburg.
In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to Mercy House of Chambersburg, 730 Norland Ave, Chambersburg, PA 17201.
