Dorothy May Beaver

Dorothy May Beaver, age 89, formerly of Chambersburg, PA, passed away on Sunday, August 16, 2026, at Celebration Villa of Lakemont Farms in Bridgeville, PA. Born in Staffordshire, England on May 5, 1937, she was the daughter of the late George Henry and Eliza Smith Foster.

Mrs. Beaver was a homemaker most of her adult life; she also worked as an antique dealer for many years. Mrs. Beaver enjoyed gardening, attending auctions, and her dogs.

Surviving are two daughters, Karen Dirkmaat (Dennis) of Erie, PA and Michele Beaver of Bridgeville, PA; four grandchildren, Kyle Dirkmaat (Abigail), Dylan Dirkmaat (Mary Claire), and Nicholas and Emma Paris; four great-grandchildren; and a sister Joan Woolliscroft of England. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Kenneth Beaver in 2018 and a daughter, Debra A. Beaver in 2013.

Graveside services will be held on Thursday, August 20, 2026, at 11:30 AM in Lincoln Cemetery, Chambersburg, PA, where Rev. Dr. A. Robert Cook will officiate. The family will receive friends on Thursday, August 20 from 10-11 am in the Thomas L. Geisel Funeral Home, Inc., 333 Falling Spring Rd., Chambersburg, PA. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in her name to the Alzheimer’s Association at Alzheimer's Association .
