Dorothy Jones

Dorothy A. Jones, 76, of Chambersburg, PA, passed away Saturday morning, July 22, 2023 at the Chambersburg Hospital. Born July 11, 1947 in St. Thomas, she was a daughter of the late Charles H. and Dorothy Bricker Ramer. Mrs. Jones was a 1965 graduate of the former St. Thomas High School and early in her life was employed at Letterkenny Army Depot. She later drove a school bus for Robert Friese, retiring after 20 years of driving. She was a member of St. James United Brethren Church. Mrs. Jones loved camping and enjoyed bowling, playing games, and spending time with her family, especially when the family would get together on holidays.

She is survived by her husband, Ronald L. Jones, whom she married September 30, 1966; four children, Daniel L. Jones and wife Stacie of Edenville, Barbara A. Jones of Waynesboro, Robin R. Tosten and husband Tony of St. Thomas, and Stanley C. Jones and wife Lori of Chambersburg; six grandchildren, Tori, Shea, Alexis, Mikaela, Katelyn, and Jordan; her sister, Debra Long and husband Mark of Chambersburg; and her brother, Richard Ramer of Shippensburg. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two brothers, David and Jacob Ramer.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM Thursday, July 27, 2023 in the Chapel of Thomas L. Geisel Funeral Home, 333 Falling Spring Road, Chambersburg, PA. Rev. Murray B. Stevens will officiate. The family will receive friends from 6:00-8:00 PM Wednesday and one hour prior to the service on Thursday at the funeral home.
