Edward E. Pinske, Jr., 76, passed away on Wednesday, January 14, 2026, at the Chambersburg Hospital. Born April 12, 1949, in Eldora, IA, he was the son of the late Edward E. Pinske, Sr., and Sally Rae Dunn Pinske Hemric.
Edward was a graduate of the former Booneville High School in Booneville, NC. He earned an associate degree from Forsyth Technical Community College in Winston Salem, NC and later attended Akron University. Edward was employed as a nuclear engineer for most of his career with Babcock & Wilcox in Barberton, OH where he designed nuclear reactors for nuclear power plants. He also restored a 2100 steam locomotive in Hagerstown, MD, designed model trains for Right of Way Industry in Akron, OH, designed a wet blade system for Burch Wet Blade in North Wilkesboro, NC, and worked for Northwest Machine in Ronda, NC. He held a patent for his design of a nuclear reactor coolant system. During his career he traveled to many countries such as: Ireland, France, Italy, Korea, China, Japan and all the states in the US but Alaska.
Edward was a loving and caring man with a great personality and never met a stranger.
He is survived by his wife of 37 years, Doris Baker Rosenberry Pinske, whom he married on April 12, 1988; two stepchildren, Angela M. Buterbaugh (Brian) of St. Thomas, PA, and Mitch T. Rosenberry of Chambersburg, PA; three grandchildren, Samantha N. Miranda (Aaron) of Shippensburg, PA, Brian R. Buterbaugh, Jr., of St. Thomas, PA, and Christopher M. Buterbaugh of Shippensburg, PA; one great grandchild which he adored, Lucas A. Miranda; two sister, Victoria Myers of Union Grove, NC, and Constance Miliam of Statesville, NC; nieces and nephews, Amy Nelson, Jason Myers, and James Collins of NC; and several cousins; and his very best friend who was like a brother to him, Hardin Bullin of Yadkinville, NC and his family. Aside from his parents, Edward was preceded in death by his sister, Sally Sue Adams.
Funeral services will be held at 10:00 AM on Monday, January 19, 2026, in the chapel of Thomas L. Geisel Funeral Home, 333 Falling Spring Road, Chambersburg, PA 17202. Rev. Dr. A. Robert Cook will officiate. Interment will follow in Spring Hill Cemetery, Shippensburg, PA. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.
