Edward Seibert

Edward A. “Sonny” Seibert, 72, of Fayetteville, PA, died Tuesday afternoon, March 20, 2012 in Chambersburg Hospital. Born June 11, 1939 in Willow Hill, he was a son of the late Edward W. and Nellie V. Fleagle Seibert. Early in his life he worked at Gillan’s Orchard prior to entering the US Army. Following his discharge from the military he worked for Raybestos and Valley Pride. He retired in 1999 from Mack Truck. Sonny was a life member of Burt J. Asper Post 46 American Legion and a member of Loyal Order of Moose #842 and Hume-McNeil-Byers AMVETS Post 224, all in Chambersburg. He enjoyed going to country and bluegrass music shows in Orrstown and Zullinger. His wife, Joanne Geissinger Seibert, preceded him in death on October 23, 1994.

Sonny is survived by four children, Gary Seibert and wife Pam of Fayetteville, Terry Seibert of Fayetteville, Jackie Beck and fiancé Victor Brookens of Chambersburg, and Michael Seibert and companion Miranda Bishop of Fayetteville; three grandchildren, Ashley Seibert, Frankie Beck, and Tyler Seibert; and one great-grandson, Bryce Beck. He is also survived by three sisters, Julia Hockenberry of Fayetteville, Janet McAllen of Fannettsburg, and Charlotte Iser of Chambersburg; a brother, Donald Seibert and wife Bonnie of Fannettsburg; and a sister-in-law Jody Seibert of Fayetteville. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Richard “Dick” Seibert and a close friend Vivian Montgomery.

Funeral services will be held at 10:00 AM Saturday, March 24, 2012 in the Chapel of Thomas L. Geisel Funeral Home and Cremation Center, 333 Falling Spring Road, Chambersburg, PA. Rev. John Semple will officiate. Interment will follow at Upper Path Valley Cemetery, Spring Run, PA. The family will receive friends from 7:00-9:00 PM Friday and one hour prior to the service on Saturday at the funeral home.
