Elizabeth J. "Betty" Franklin

Elizabeth J. “Betty” Franklin, 80, of Duncansville, PA, passed away on Thursday, October 23, 2025 at the Chambersburg Hospital. Born February 12, 1945 in Oil City, PA, she was the daughter of the late William and Margaret Flowers Fink. Her beloved husband of 42 years, Eugene ‘Gene” Franklin, preceded her in death on January 22, 2019.

Betty was a 1963 graduate of Venango Catholic School. She was employed early in her life as a bookkeeper and later as a sale associate, working for her husband at Value City in Chambersburg. She also dedicated a good portion of her life making a home for her family. She was a huge fan of NASCAR and the Pittsburgh Steelers. Betty loved to bake and enjoyed spending time with her family.

She is survived by two children, Kelly Franklin (Jason Wink) of Duncansville, PA, and Tony Franklin of Bluff City, TN; four grandchildren, Ryan, Jason, Josh and Mene; two great grandchildren. Gage and Lennon; five siblings, Jim Fink, Jack Fink, Mary Meehan, Theresa Fink, and Patty Kearney; numerous nieces and nephews; her former son-in-law and caregiver, Alex Motzer; and her grand-dog Abby. Aside from her parents and husband, Betty was preceded in death by her daughter, Bridget “Chrissy” Franklin; two brothers, Bill and Bob; and her grand-dog, BooBoo.

Interment will be private. A celebration of life will be held at 1:30 PM on Saturday, November 8, 2025, at Marzoni's Brick Oven and Brewing, Co., 1830 E Pleasant Valley Blvd, Altoona, PA 16602. Arrangements are entrusted to the Thomas L. Geisel Funeral Home, Chambersburg, PA. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Multiple Sclerosis Association of America at mymsaa.org/, the Lewy Body Dementia Association at lbda.org/, or to Mercy House of Chambersburg at mercyhouseofchambersburg.org/. Condolences and memories may be shared at geiselfuneralhome.com.
