Evelyn Doris Staude

Evelyn “Doris” Staude, 93, formerly of Chambersburg, PA, passed away on Saturday, April 11, 2026, at Viva Senior Living in Harrisburg, PA. Born April 18, 1932, in Philadelphia, PA, she was a daughter of the late Adam and Caroline Byer Yung. Her beloved husband of 53 years, James E. Staude, preceded her in death on August 1, 2013.

Following her high school graduation, Doris enrolled at the University of Pittsburgh where she earned her B.S. in Nursing. She was employed as a Registered Nurse with several hospitals, including Memorial Southwest Hospital and Methodist Hospital, both in Houston, TX, retiring from the latter. In her spare time, Doris enjoyed reading, knitting, and making different crafts.

She is survived by two children, Kathleen Stauffer of Mt. Joy, PA, and James D. Staude (wife Dolly) of El Campo, TX; five grandchildren, Sarah, Rachel (husband Ben), Jonathan, Jessica (husband Kevin), and Derik (wife Laura); and nine great grandchildren. Aside from her parents and husband, Doris was preceded in death by her sister, Eleanor Ardary.

Funeral services will be held at 1:00 PM on Thursday, April 16, 2026, in the chapel of Thomas L. Geisel Funeral Home, 333 Falling Spring Road, Chambersburg, PA 17202. Interment will follow the service in Parklawns Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service on Thursday at the funeral home.
