Floyd Runyon

June 29, 1940 — April 14, 2022

Floyd Leroy “Lee” Runyon, 81, of Chambersburg, passed away on Thursday, April 14, 2022 at the Chambersburg Hospital. Born June 29, 1940 in Chambersburg, he was a son of the late Nelson M. and Viola M. Reamer Runyon. His beloved wife, Sharon A. Runyon, preceded him in death on November 2, 2020.

Lee was a 1959 graduate of St. Thomas High School. A US Air Force veteran, he served honorably form 1959 – 1963. Along with his father and brother, Lee built single family homes with their business, Nelson M. Runyon and Sons. He later was employed as housing manager at Letterkenny Army Depot until his retirement after over 25 years. He was a member of VFW Post 1599, American Legion Post 46, and the Marine Corps League, all in Chambersburg. He was also a past president of the South Hamilton Community Association.

He is survived by his son, John L. Runyon and wife Colleen of Dunn Loring, VA; one daughter; four grandchildren Nikita, Seth, Kathleen and Lindsey; seven great grandchildren; and one brother, Ronald M. Runyon and wife Sally of Chambersburg.

A graveside service will be held at 1:00 PM on Friday, April 22, 2022 at Parklawns Memorial Gardens. Rev. Murray B. Stevens will officiate. Arrangements are entrusted to Thomas L. Geisel Funeral Home and Cremation Center, Chambersburg, PA.
