George W. “Tex” Perry, Jr. age 72, of Fayetteville, PA, passed away on Wednesday, July 23, 2025, at Holy Spirit Hospital. Born in Chambersburg, PA on December 24, 1952, he was the son of the late George Washington, Sr. and Emma Fraker Perry.
Tex attended CASHS. He was an auto mechanic by trade and worked at various different dealerships and garages; he was last employed by Ram Tech at Letterkenny Army Depot. He enjoyed working on cars, all types of auto racing, hunting, fishing, gardening, and just being outside.
Surviving is his wife of 47 years, Eva Holtry Perry of Fayetteville; three children, Terry Perry (wife Tonya) of Chambersburg, PA, Andrea Rice (husband Paul) of Fayetteville, PA, and Jason L. Perry of Fayetteville, PA; five grandchildren, Brysen, Jenna, Sania, Austin, and Tristyn; three great-grandchildren, Brooklyn, Brantey, and Justin. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Connie Perry Swope and a nephew, Anthony “Tony” Swope.
Private graveside services were held in Mt. Pleasant Cemetery. Arrangements are entrusted to the Thomas L. Geisel Funeral Home, Inc., Chambersburg, PA. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in his name to the Cumberland Valley Animal Shelter, 5051 Letterkenny Rd. West, Chambersburg, PA 17202.
