Dr. H. Phillip Rohr, 80, passed away peacefully on August 23, 2026, in Chambersburg, Pennsylvania, Born in 1945, Phil proudly served four years in the United States Army. After his military service, he continued his education and earned numerous college degrees.

Dr. Rohr devoted his career to education and retired as Vice-Superintendent of Montgomery County Public Schools.

He was preceded in death by his beloved wife of 52 years, Carol J. Rohr, his step-son William E. Hottinger and his brother, Stephen M. Rohr.

Phil is survived by his daughter-in-law, Ellen G. Hottinger; his niece, Susan, and her husband, John Ellsberry; Diana and her husband, Dean Richardson; and many dear friends.

Phil loved golfing, traveling, and spending time with his many cherished friends. He was fortunate to travel extensively throughout the world and treasured the adventures and memories he made along the way.

Phil will be remembered for his dedication to education, love of travel and golf, and the friendships made throughout his life. He will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Dementia Society of America and Alzheimer's Association Foundation.

In accordance with Philip's wishes, there will be no services. Arrangements are entrusted to the Thomas L. Geisel Funeral Home, Inc., Chambersburg, PA. Online condolences may be offered on his Book of Memories page at www.geiselfuneralhome.com.
