Jacob Miller

Jacob D. Miller, 86, of Fayetteville, PA, passed away on Thursday, October 12, 2023. Born November 3, 1936 in Chambersburg, he was the son of the late Robert Miller, Sr. and Mildred Snyder Miller.

A US Navy veteran, Jake served honorably from 1954-58. He was employed as a machinist at SKF in Shippensburg until his retirement. He also worked as a flower delivery driver for Plasterer’s Florist for several years. Jake was a member of George Washington Lodge 143 F & AM and life member of the VFW Post 1599 in Chambersburg and he attended Freedom in Christ Church in Chambersburg. An avid bowler, Jake was in numerous bowling clubs and leagues.

He is survived by his wife, Roberta R. Overcash Miller, whom he married on July 12, 1985; two sons, Terry L. Miller of Chambersburg, and Todd A. Miller of Orrstown; four grandchildren, Brik A. Miller (Kaitlyn) of Fort Mill, SC, Taryn A. Miller of Chambersburg, Mason M. Miller of Rock Hill, SC, and Faith L. Miller of Chambersburg; one great grandson, Asher J. Miller; and one sister, Mary Norcross of Chambersburg. Aside from his parents, Jake was preceded in death by seven siblings.

A memorial service will be held at 2:00 PM on Thursday, October 19, 2023 in the chapel of Thomas L. Geisel Funeral Home, 333 Falling Spring Road, Chambersburg, PA. Rev. John Pogue will officiate. A masonic service will be held by members of the George Washington Lodge F & AM at 1:45 PM. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home. Military Honors will be provided by members of the VFW Post 1599 Honor Guard. Condolences and memories may be shared at geiselfuneralhome.com.
