Jane R. Crouse, 76, of Chambersburg, passed away on Saturday, January 20, 2024 at her home. Born January 28, 1947 in Shade Gap, PA, she was the daughter of the late Jacob and Julia Starr McMullen.
Jane was a 1965 graduate of Southern Huntingdon High School. She began working for the FBI as a finger print expert directly out of high school. She later was employed at several sewing factories and most recently in the deli at Sunnyway Foods in Chambersburg until her retirement. Jane was a member of Corpus Christi Catholic Church in Chambersburg. She was also a member of AARP and the former Path Valley Lioness Club. She enjoyed crossword and jigsaw puzzles and playing cards. What she loved most was being with her family.
She is survived by her husband of 56 years, Edward F. Crouse, whom she married on August 12, 1967; two children, Debra Stottlemyer (Michael Hammond) of Blairs Mills, and James Crouse (Leanne) of Shippensburg; five grandchildren, Colby Flood, Sr., Dylan Stottlemyer, Cheyenne Stottlemyer, Brandon Crouse, and Austin Crouse; two great grandchildren; and two siblings, Magdalen Corley of Mesa, AZ, and Paul McMullen (Judy) of Chambersburg. Aside from her parents, Jane was preceded in death by two siblings, Helen Hunter and Leo McMullen.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00 AM on Tuesday, January 23, 2024 at Corpus Christi Catholic Church, 320 Philadelphia Avenue, Chambersburg, PA 17201. Rev. Fr. Matthew Smith will celebrate. Interment will follow the mass in Upper Path Valley Cemetery. The family will receive friends Monday evening from 6:00 – 8:00 PM at the Thomas L. Geisel Funeral Home, 333 Falling Spring Road, Chambersburg, PA, and one hour prior to the service on Tuesday at the church. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Corpus Christi Catholic Church, 279 N. Second Street, Chambersburg, PA 17201.
