Janet Kirkpatrick

March 9, 1935 — August 7, 2023

Janet W. Kirkpatrick was called home to be with her Lord on Monday, August 7, 2023, at the Chambersburg Hospital. Born on March 9, 1935, she was the oldest daughter of Merle L. and Catherine S. (Sollenberger) Wingert who preceded her in death. She was also preceded in death by her husband of 41 years, Robert B. Kirkpatrick, Jr., and her sister, Fern Shoop. She is survived by her brother Ray E. (Rubie) Wingert of Chambersburg, her sister-in-law Ruth Kirkpatrick, and several nieces and nephews.

The joy of Janet’s life was her love for music which she claimed came from her daddy. She taught both piano and organ for many and was an organist for five churches. She took great pride being the last original resident of the Tower at Falling Spring in Chambersburg where she resided for over 40 years. There she enjoyed the social experiences of hospitality and playing Scrabble with friends and visitors.

A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, August 12, 2023 @ 11:30 a.m. at the Geisel Funeral Home, 333 Falling Spring Road, Chambersburg, PA.

Memorial contributions may be made to West Side Brethren in Christ Church, 2665 Lincoln Way West, Chambersburg, PA 17202.
