Jenine H. Grove, 73, of Shippensburg, PA, passed away on Thursday, May 29, 2025 at the University of Cincinnati Medical Center. Born, January 4, 1952 in Chambersburg, she was a daughter of the late Clarence E. and Lavona Roof Hoover.
Jenine was a 1970 graduate of CASHS. She earned a Bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education in 1974 and later earned a Master’s degree in Education, both from Shippensburg University. She was employed as a teacher in the Greencastle-Antrim School District for 24 years until her retirement in 1999. Jenine was a member of Central Presbyterian Church in Chambersburg where she served as an Elder and was the first female Deacon. She was also active in the Choir, Bell Choir, Bible School, and was on the board of the Children’s Ministry. Through the church, Jenine taught English as a Second Language and served by teaching life skills to a family who emigrated from Syria. She was active with Racial Reconciliation of Franklin County and in her spare time, enjoyed gardening, and doing crossword and jigsaw puzzles.
She is survived by her husband of 42 years, Michael R. Grove, whom she married on September 1, 1982; three sisters, Cynthia Dinsmore and husband Dale, Nancy Hershey and husband Brian, and Harriett Peters and husband Ralph, all of Chambersburg; and numerous nieces and nephews.
A Celebration of Life will be held at 10:30 AM on Saturday, August 2, 2025, at Central Presbyterian Church, 40 Lincoln Way West, Chambersburg, PA 17201. Rev. Chris Schwab will officiate. The family will receive friends at the church from 10:00 – 10:30 AM prior to the service. Arrangements are entrusted to the Thomas L. Geisel Funeral Home, Chambersburg, PA.
