Jerome "Jerry" Sochowski, a devoted husband and loving father, passed peacefully in Chambersburg, PA, on June 7, 2025, at the age of 76. His life was marked by courage, service, and unwavering love for his family.

Jerry was born in Chicago, Illinois, on June 17, 1948. After graduating from the University of San Diego in 1970, he joined the Navy. Jerry served his country as a helicopter pilot for 23 years. He served with honor and distinction retiring as a Lieutenant Commander. Throughout his military career, he exemplified bravery, discipline, and a deep commitment to his country. His time in uniform shaped a life of resilience and purpose that inspired all who knew him. He continued to support the Navy by taking a job working with Eagle Systems at PAX River Naval Air Station, working on radar in P-3 aircraft.

Jerry was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Barbara Ann; parents, Capt. Richard and Loretta Sochowski; and brothers, Thomas and Robert.

In his free time, Jerry enjoyed spending time with his kids, Meghan and Andy, fishing, boating, travel, watching their sporting events, and most importantly, working on his tan.

Jerry is survived by his wife, Linda, his children, Meghan Rhode (husband Robert), Andrew Sochowski (wife Morgan), and step-children, Charity Heaton (husband Andrew), Daniel Snyder (wife Tammy), and Rebecca Henry (husband Michael). He was also blessed with twenty grandchildren and five great grandchildren. Jerry leaves all with a legacy of service, love, and integrity that will continue to inspire long into the future.

In the years since his retirement, he has enjoyed many cross country road trips, visiting all the great things that our nation has to offer. Jerry never went hungry along the way, as they always seemed to be close by to one of the many Diners, Drive-Ins, and Dives.

Those who knew Jerry will remember his quick wit, generous spirit, and the quiet strength he carried into every chapter of life. He loved deeply, served faithfully, and lived honorably.
