Jo A. Barton

Jo A. Barton, 71, of Shippensburg, PA, and formerly of Lake Ridge, VA, passed away on Saturday, September 27, 2025, at Wellspan Chambersburg Hospital in Chambersburg, PA She was born on October 11, 1953, in Washington D.C. to the late Russell and Marie (Lawrence) Barton.

Jo earned her associate’s degree in computer programming and went on to work for the National Park Service as a Budget Analyst until her retirement in 2012. She loved animals and was a reality TV junkie and enjoyed watching Survivor, Big Brother, and anything on TLC.

She is survived by her daughters Meridith Biggs of Shippensburg, PA; Angela Grover of Spotsylvania, VA; grandchildren Russell Grover, Quinton Grover, Alyssa Grover, and Preston Grover; great-grandchildren Lily, Elijah, Mark, and Kayson; sister Wendy Kmetz of Long Island, NY. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her sisters Lynn Marie Barton and Mary Cosman and brothers Michael Barton and Patrick Barton.

Services will be private at the convenience of the family. Arrangements have been entrusted to the Thomas L. Geisel Funeral Home and Cremation Center.
