Johanna Murray

Johanna “Joey” M. Murray, 85, of Hagerstown, MD passed away on March 29, 2024, surrounded by her family. She was born in Marion, NY to the late Jacob and Suzanna Datthyn and preceded in death by her husband, Robert C. Murray in 2015, and five brothers and one sister.

She was proud of her Dutch heritage and collected Delft items over the years. She loved many flowers, including irises, tulips and bleeding hearts. She also had a love for cats, dogs, horses, gardening, bowling, and anything she could do with her hands (sewing, knitting, painting and any other crafty thing that came up).
Left to cherish her memory are her daughter Tracy Outlaw and husband Mark, son Scott Murray and wife Melanie, daughter Sharon Baker, 7 grandchildren; Andrew Jones and wife Victoria, Allison Holyoak and husband Brad, Ian Kepner, Daniel Jones and wife Kristin, Taylor Murray and wife Destiny, Kristin Murray, Jada Baker; 7 great-grandchildren, Owen, Chloe and Madison Holyoak, Emily and Ivan Jones, Andi and Frances Jones.

She will be missed dearly by her family and friends.

A memorial service will be held 10:30 AM, Thursday, April 4, 2024 in the Chapel of Thomas L. Geisel Funeral Home and Cremation Center, 333 Falling Spring Road, Chambersburg, PA 17202 with Rev. Dr. A. Robert Cook officiating. She will be buried with her husband privately at a later date in the Webster Union Cemetery, Webster, New York.

The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service Thursday morning in the funeral home.
