John M. Norris, 79, of Chambersburg, PA, passed away on Friday, September 4, 2026, at the Hershey Medical Center. Born October 19, 1946, in Omaha, Nebraska, he was the son of the late Michael and Marilyn (Bareford) Norris.

John proudly served his country in the United States Navy during the Vietnam War, a service he carried with honor throughout his life. Following his military service, he built a successful career as a controller in the glassware industry. He was also a member of American Legion Post 46 in Chambersburg, where he enjoyed the camaraderie of fellow veterans and friends.

Above all, John was a devoted husband, father, and grandfather whose love for his family was the foundation of his life. He will be deeply missed by those who knew and loved him.

He is survived by his loving wife, Deborah L. (Kershner) Norris of Chambersburg; his cherished children, Sean Norris, Alyssa Norris, and Jennifer Allen, all of Chambersburg; and his loving grandchildren and many extended family members and friends who will forever treasure his memory.

In addition to his parents, John was preceded in death by his son, Michael Norris.

The family will receive friends from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM on Thursday, September 10, 2026, at Thomas L. Geisel Funeral Home, 333 Falling Spring Road, Chambersburg, PA. Services will be private.
