John E. Zeger, Sr., 81, of Fort Loudon, died Monday, February 17, 2014 at the Chambersburg Hospital. He was the son of the late Guy and Esther Truax Zeger.
John honorably served his country in the United States Air Force. He was a loving husband and father. John enjoyed hunting and spending time in the mountain. He was a member of American Legion Headquarters Post 945, Wormleysburg, PA.
He is survived by his wife of 57 years, Esther Fay Cordell Zeger; 5 sons, John E. Jr. and wife Michelle of Fort Loudon, Terry L. and wife Vonda of Mercersburg, Antonio W. and wife Joyce of St. Thomas, Steven R. and wife Brenda of Fort Loudon, Donald E. and wife Stacy of Mercersburg; a sister, Vonnie Zeger Shatzer; 10 grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren.
Services will be private and at the convenience of the family. Arrangements are entrusted to Thomas l. Geisel Funeral Home and Cremation Center, 333 Falling Spring Road Chambersburg.
