Joyce L. Fisher

Joyce L. Fisher, 85, of Chambersburg, PA passed away Friday, October 16, 2026. Born February 12, 1941, in Ulysses, PA, she was the daughter of the late Lawrence and Fredericka (Henry) Smith.

She was a graduate of Northern Potter High School with the Class of 1958. Joyce later went on to obtain her Bachelor of Education from Mansfield University. Joyce was employed by the Chambersburg Area School District as a third-grade teacher at Fayetteville Elementary School. She retired in 2001 after over 30 years of dedication.

Joyce was an active and faithful member of Park Avenue United Methodist Church where she played the organ and piano and sang in the choir and served as the director for several years. She enjoyed gardening, singing, and cooking.

She is survived by her husband of nearly 40 years, Joe M. Fisher; two sons Jody Bouder (Lisa) and Doug Bouder; a stepdaughter, Sherrie Fisher; eight grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; two brothers, Jim Smith and William Smith (Linda); and a number of nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by a sister, Leisa Smith and stepson Keith Fisher.

Services will be held 11:00 AM, Monday, October 26, 2026, in the Chapel of Thomas L. Geisel Funeral Home, 333 Falling Spring Road, Chambersburg, PA 17202 with Pastor Bruce Levy officiating. Burial will follow in Norland Cemetery, Chambersburg, PA.

The family will receive friends from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM Sunday evening as well as one hour prior to the service Monday morning in the funeral home.
