Kathryn L. Hartley

Kathryn, L. Hartley, 96, of Chambersburg, passed away on Friday, January 30, 2026, at Brookview Healthcare Center. Born February 4, 1929, in DuBois, PA, she was a daughter of the late Leslie J. and Millicent I. Lott Schoch. Her beloved husband, John R. Hartley, whom she married on September 17, 1950, preceded her in death on April 12, 2019.

Kathryn was employed as a bank teller for most of her career. She was a member of St. Paul United Methodist Church in Chambersburg where she was very active for most of her life. She enjoyed church activities and crafting.

She is survived by her nephew, Randy Schmidt and wife Donna; niece Kim Tovar and husband Oscar; and on her husband’ side she is survived by three nieces, Dorothy Johnson, Bette Reichard, and Doreen Mathis and husband Lonnie; and one nephew, Tim Sankey. Aside from her parents and husband, Kathryn was preceded in death by two sisters, Ruth Schmidt and Eileen Conti; and her great niece, Marcie Brubaker.

Services will be private. Interment will be at a later date in Philipsburg Cemetery. Arrangements are entrusted to the Thomas L. Geisel Funeral Home, Chambersburg, PA. Condolences and memories may be shared at geiselfuneralhome.com.
