Keith M. Kunkle, age 74, of Chambersburg, PA, passed away on Sunday, March 25, 2012 at his home. Born in Greensburg, PA on December 17, 1937, he was the son of the late Homer and Mildred Miller Kunkle.
A U.S. Army veteran, Keith served honorably during the Vietnam conflict. He retired from LSSA at Letterkenny Army Depot in 1985. Upon his retirement, Keith owned and operated Kunkle Construction. He was a prior member of the VFW, American Legion, Moose Lodge, Marine Corps League, and Elks Clubs. An avid car enthusiast, Keith enjoyed antique and classic cars, especially Fords; in addition he loved spending time with his grandchildren, camping, discussing politics, and the Dallas Cowboys. He was affectionately known as a “Jack of All Trades”.
Surviving are his wife 39 years, Carol Shade Kunkle, whom he married on February 17, 1973; four children, Terri Lynn Aguilar (Ray); Lisa Jean Kelley (Tracey); Tamara Lee Fox (James); and K. Kraig Kunkle(Angel); eight grandchildren, Justin, Alec, Marlaina, Sara, Ashtin, Tristen, Shelby, and Vance; two great-grandchildren Kaden and Colin Wright; and three siblings, Richard, Charles, and Dale Kunkle. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his first wife, Marlyn and three brothers, Roy, Melvin, and Clifford.
Graveside services will be held on Friday, March 30, 2012 at 11 AM in the Middletown Cemetery, Greensburg, PA; where a memorial service will follow at the Middletown United Methodist Church, 1050 Middletown Rd., Greensburg, PA. The family will receive friends on Thursday, March 29, 2012 from 6:00 to 8:00 PM in the Thomas L. Geisel Funeral Home and Cremation Center, 333 Falling Spring Rd., Chambersburg, PA. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in his name to St. Jude’s Children Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105 or the Home Nursing Agency and Hospice, 176 S.
