Lawrence Eugene Furman of Chambersburg, PA went home to meet his Lord and Savior on November 27, 2025. He was born on December 26, 1943, the son of the late Elmo Furman and Carrie Hardy Furman.
Mr. Furman graduated from CASHS in 1962 and was employed at LEAD for almost 30 years in the Engineering Division. He was involved in the development of the Patriot Missile System.
In his younger days he was a member of the Ridge Church of the Brethren, Shippensburg, PA where he was active in children and youth activities, Camp Eder, and district leadership. Lawrence was a history buff, particularly of the World Was Il era, and enjoyed Christian music, especially Southern Gospel.
He is survived by a son, Matthew Lawrence Furman of Hagerstown, MD; two grandsons, Sebastian D. Furman and Colin M. Furman of Chambersburg; his former wife and friend, Bonnie Hollinshead of Chambersburg; a sister, Delores Wert of Mount Joy, PA; and a number of nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by three brothers, Gerald Furman, Robert Furman and John Furman.
Services will be held 11:00 AM, Wednesday, December 3, 2025 in the Chapel of the Thomas L. Geisel Funeral Home, 333 Falling Spring Road, Chambersburg, PA 17202 with Rev. Ron Cook officiating. Burial will follow in Ridge Church Cemetery, Shippensburg, PA.
The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service Wednesday morning in the funeral home.
