Linda Anne Cook, 77, of Chambersburg, passed away peacefully at her home on Thursday, November 11, 2021 surrounded by her family. Born February 24, 1944 in Harrisburg, she was a daughter of the late Lawrence and Lois Newberger Webster. Linda was a 1962 graduate of the Chambersburg Area Senior High School. She and her husband, Sherwood, were long-time members of the Mt. Pleasant United Brethren Church and more recently Antrim Brethren In Christ Church. They also attended First Baptist Church in Bushnell, FL where she and her husband enjoyed wintering at Sumter Oaks RV Park. She enjoyed flower gardening, genealogy, and hand crafts. Her most recent project was Swedish weaving blankets for all of her children and grandchildren.
She is survived by her husband, Sherwood David Cook, whom she married August 11, 1963; four daughters, Debra Lynn Fain (David) of St. Augustine, FL, Michelle Diane Moats (Aaron) of Shippensburg, Christine Annette Swartz (Dale) of Galena, OH, and Chrystal Ann Reese (Patrick) of Tipp City, OH; twelve grandchildren, Jillian Herbert (Kenneth), Angela Wahl (Raul Huerta), Jakob Merulla (Christa), Alexander Moats, Evan Moats, Elijah Moats, Heather Berry (Austin), Maria Kuipers (Eric), Isaac Swartz, Andrew Swartz, Elsbeth Reese, and Nathaniel Reese; four great-grandchildren, Samuel Berry, Benjamin Berry, Jakob Merulla, Jr., and Cameron Herbert; her sisters, Janice Holbrook (Paul) of Scotland; her brother, Dwight Webster (Sue) of Fleming Island, FL; and numerous nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a brother, Jeffrey Webster.
Funeral services will be held at 10:00 AM on Monday, November 15, 2021 in the Chapel of Thomas L. Geisel Funeral Home and Cremation Center, 333 Falling Spring Road, Chambersburg, PA. Rev. Casey Hurst and Rev. Ronald Cook will officiate. Interment will follow at Mt. Pleasant Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6:00-8:00 PM on Sunday and from 9:00 – 10:00 AM on Monday at the funeral home.
