Lloyd Anthony "Butch" Overcash

Lloyd Anthony “Butch” Overcash, 75, of South Mountain, PA, passed away on Saturday morning, July 4, 2026, at Chambersburg Skilled Nursing and Rehab. Born May 11, 1951 in Chambersburg, PA, he was the son of the late Charles Russell “Russ” and Mary (Rodich) Overcash.

Lloyd was a 1969 graduate of CASHS. A US Air Force veteran, he served honorably during the Vietnam War. He was employed at Ft. Ritchie and Site R as an Electrician until his retirement. Lloyd was a member of South Mountain Bible Church, the AMVETS Post 224, Landis-McCleaf Detachment Marine Corps League, South Mountain Fish and Game Club, and the NRA. He enjoyed hunting.

He is survived by his wife of 54 years, Shirley M. Shew Overcash, of South Mountain, PA; two sons, Keith A. Overcash of South Mountain, PA; Kirk A. Overcash (Kati) of Waynesboro, PA; granddaughter Rachel Jackson (J.J.) of Spring Run, PA, and their daughter Lily; grandson Dominic Overcash (Alesha Goshorn) of Spring Run, PA; sister Barbara (Overcash) Woodard of Fayetteville, PA; nephews Kenton Woodard of Philadelphia, PA; Chris Upperman of St. Thomas, PA. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his sister Connie (Overcash) Upperman and his brother-in-law Les Woodard.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM on Friday, July 10, 2026, in the chapel of Thomas L. Geisel Funeral Home, 333 Falling Spring Road, Chambersburg, PA 17202. Pastor Colin Morley will officiate. Interment will follow the service in Grindstone Hill Cemetery. Military Honors will be provided by Charles Nitterhouse VFW Post 1599. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service on Friday at the funeral home from 10:00 AM – 11:00 AM. Condolences and memories may be shared at geiselfuneralhome.com.
