Margaret C. Stigers

Margaret C. Stigers, 97, of Chambersburg, quietly passed away on Thursday, September 17, 2026, at Providence Place. Born December 30, 1928, in Delancy (Adrian), PA, she was the daughter of the late Patrick and Anne (Peel) Brett.

Margaret enjoyed the quiet, peaceful things in life, she played bridge with her neighborhood friends. Those who knew her will remember her for the simple yet meaningful joys she embraced throughout her life. Whether gathered around the table with family, or enjoying quiet moments together, those memories meant the most to her and will be treasured by all who knew her.

She is survived by her beloved children, William Stigers and Peggy (Stigers) Wright; along with her son in law Steven Wright and three grandchildren, Timothy Wright, Caitlyn Wright and Brian Wright.

Though she will be deeply missed, Margaret’s gentle spirit, steady presence, and the love she gave so freely will continue to live on in the hearts of those who knew and loved her.

In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by her beloved husband of 55 years, Donald William Stigers.

Mass of Christian Burial will be held at Corpus Cristi Catholic Church, 320 Philadelphia Avenue, Chambersburg, PA 17201, time and date to be announced. Inurnment to take place at a later date at Arlington National Cemetery.
