Marie M. (Ottemiller) Kutz, 76, of Chambersburg, PA passed away Monday, February 2, 2026, in the Chambersburg Hospital. Born May 9, 1949, in York, PA she was the daughter of the late Creston F. and Joyce M. (Fitzkee) Ottemiller.

She was a graduate of York Suburban High School with the Class of 1967. Marie then went on to graduate from Juniata College, Huntingdon, PA with a bachelor's degree in German in 1971. While at Juniata she sang with the college choir. Following her graduation, she was employed for her family’s business, William H. Ottemiller Company, York, PA until moving to Franklin County in 1989. After her move she was employed as a medical assistant for many years at Mont Alto Family Practice and later for Chambersburg OB-GYN Associates.

In her younger years, Marie was a member of the 4H Club and Girl Scouts. She was a former equestrian and great admirer of domesticated and wild horses. Marie was a well-rounded person throughout her lifetime, she was a fond observer of Pennsylvania wildlife, a passionate fan of Penn State Football, and an accomplished pianist and songstress. She was also a friend, rescuer, and compassionate advocate of all rabbits and a member of the Bunny People Domestic Rabbit Rescue, Adoption, and Education. Marie will be remembered as beloved wife, sister, sister-in-law, and aunt who was an adept conversationalist and quick with humor.

She is survived by her loving husband of 43 years, Hugh W. Kutz; brother, Dennis Ottemiller and his wife Susan; brother-in-law, Randy Kutz and his wife Cathy, nieces and nephews, Ethan and Zoe Ottemiller and Meghan and Robert Kutz. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by a brother, Chris Ottemiller.

Services will be private at the convenience of the family. Arrangements are entrusted to Thomas L. Geisel Funeral Home, Chambersburg, PA.
