Martha Jane Hawbaker

Martha Jane Hawbaker, age 87, of Chambersburg, passed away on November 1, 2026, at the Shook Home. Born December 12, 1938, in Chambersburg, she was a daughter of the late Harry S. G. and M. Elizabeth Sollenberger Hawbaker.

Martha worked most of her life as a dedicated caregiver to the elderly. She was a member of the United Mennonite Church.

She is survived by her sister, Ruth Beam and husband Paul of Ridgeway, Ontario; sister-in-law, Laura Hawbaker of Chambersburg, and a number of nieces and nephews. Aside from her parents, Martha was preceded in death by three siblings, Miriam, Benjamin, and Nathan Hawbaker.

Funeral services will be held at 10:00 AM on Monday, November 9, 2026, in the chapel of Thomas L. Geisel Funeral Home. Paul Beam and Richard Martin will officiate. Interment will follow the service in Brechbill Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 4:00 – 6:00 PM on Sunday, November 8, 2026, and one hour prior to the service on Monday at the funeral home.
