Martha C. Hepfer, 96, of Chambersburg, PA, died Saturday morning, March 16, 2013 at ManorCare Health Services. Born December 30, 1916 in Roxbury, PA, she was a daughter of the late Joseph E. and Jesse Holtry Timmons. Mrs. Hepfer was a homemaker most of her life. Her husband, William D. Hepfer, preceded her in death in March of 1964.
She is survived by her daughter, Virginia Fay Shields of Fayetteville; two grandsons, Gregory L. Shields of Orrtanna, PA and Gary L. Shields and wife Jamie of Fayetteville; and five great-grandchildren. She is also survived by a brother, Marvin Timmons and wife Doreen; a sister, Ruby Deitrich and husband Edgar; and her niece, Trudy Suders with whom she resided, all of Chambersburg; as well as a nephew, Patrick Bent of Hampton, MN. In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by her son, William J. Hepfer, on October 14, 2007; six brothers; and three sisters.
Services and interment will be private. Rev. William Kauffman will officiate.
