Mary H. Hawk

Mary H. (Hirsch) Hawk, 80, of Chambersburg, PA, passed away on Saturday, July 19, 2025, at her home.

She was born on March 20,1945, in Washington D.C. to the late Paul K. and Marjorie (Rehn) Hirsch.

Mary earned a Bachelors Degree from Penn State University, State College, PA and earned a Masters Degree from the University of Pennsylvania in Philadelphia, PA. She dedicated her career to K–12 education, teaching in the Philadelphia, PA and Chambersburg, PA areas until her retirement.

In her free time, she enjoyed gardening, reading, and sewing.

She is survived by her daughters Lisa van der Vorst (Frank) of Illinois; Ellen Hawk of Fayetteville, PA; sister Claire Naples of Rochester, NY; nephews Karl Eiselen of Borneo, Malaysia; Grant Eiselen, MD of Pensacola, FL; and beloved grandson, Paul van der Vorst, son of Lisa and Frank.

A memorial service will be announced at a later date. Arrangements have been entrusted to the Thomas L. Geisel Funeral Home and Cremation Center.
