Mary A. Wingert

Mary A. Wingert, 96, of Chambersburg, PA, passed away on Thursday morning, July 2, 2026, at Mercy House of Chambersburg. Born November 12, 1929, in St. Thomas, PA, she was a daughter of the late Herman L. and Alice B. Keefer Glass. Her beloved husband, Garnet L. “Piney” Wingert, preceded her in death on April 15, 1997.

Mary was employed at the Chambersburg Hospital in environmental services until her retirement in 1998. She was a member of 1st Lutheran Church in Chambersburg, AARP, and volunteered her time with Meals-On-Wheels. She enjoyed traveling with the Go Club, walking, reading, and flower gardening.

She is survived by three children, M. Linda Miller (Glenn) of Chambersburg, Dale Wingert (Darla) of Frederick, MD, and Dennis Wingert (Vicki) of Carlisle; four grandchildren, Braden Wingert (Cindy) of Franklin, TN, Corey Wingert (Kim) of Trenton, OH, Becca Sites (Jarrod) of Carlisle, and Nathan Wingert (Marje) of Chesapeake, VA; and four great grandchildren, Kaitlyn, Kayla, Kendall and Annaliese. Aside from her husband and parents, Mary was preceded in death by her sister, Ethel Rotz.

Funeral services will be held at 12:00 PM on Thursday, July 9, 2026, in the chapel of Thomas L. Geisel Funeral Home, 333 Falling Spring Road, Chambersburg, PA 17202. Rev. Dr. A. Robert Cook will officiate. Interment will follow the service in Parklawns Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends from 11:00 AM – 12:00 PM prior to the service.
