Michael Carbaugh

Michael A. Carbaugh, 69, of Chambersburg, PA, passed away Monday, September 4, 2023 at the Chambersburg Skilled Nursing and Rehabilitation Center. Born December 14, 1953 in Chambersburg, he was a son of Joan L. Peters Carbaugh and the late Frank E. Carbaugh.

Michael graduated from high school in Frankfort, Germany and served honorably with the US Air Force and Army for most of his life prior to retirement. He served the United States Army for over 20 years and retired as a Sergeant First Class. He enjoyed golfing, hunting, fishing, and traveling. Michael liked to go to different restaurants and he loved ice cream.

In addition to his mother, he is survived by his wife, Susanna Wisler Carbaugh; son Michael Jason Carbaugh; brother Kenneth Carbaugh; and sisters Donna Brown and Robin Perry.

A memorial service will be held at 10:00 AM Monday, September 11, 2023 in the Chapel of Thomas L. Geisel Funeral Home, 333 Falling Spring Road, Chambersburg, PA. Rev. Christopher Frye will officiate. The family will receive friends from 9:00 – 10:00 AM on Monday at the funeral home. Military honors will be conducted by members of the Charles Nitterhouse Post 1599 VFW Honor Guard.
